Coach Hans and I would love for you to join us in bringing Christmas cheer to those in need. Junior High Athletics-PE is organizing a toy drive for those who are needing gifts for their families during the holidays and on Christmas day. We have a giant red bin located in the Junior High gym that we are putting the toys in that are being collected. We ask that it not be a used or old dirty toy, preferable one that is still in a box. We are collecting gift cards as well. We have a large envelope that we are putting the gift cards in. We will send out a message to the community and district on what day to come by and get a toy or two if you are in need of help. This is not mandatory for any staff or student to participate in, but we would love it if you did. Please also let us know of anyone that you can put on the list that might need some help over the holidays with a gift. Again, this is strictly voluntary on your part, and we are grateful for anything we get to be able to help those that are in need. If you have any questions, please email me and I will gladly answer any questions you may have.

Huge thanks to Dr. Tate for coming in to read to my third period class today. She brought a great book that tied into our current color theory unit AND had an extension activity for my kids! Super grateful for the love of literacy in our district. -Morgan Clyde, Art Teacher

The Lytle Pirate Cross Country team will be making it's third straight trip of both boys and girls to the State Cross Country Meet this coming Friday. It is the 6th straight appearance for the boys and 9th overall. It is the 3rd overall appearance for the girls. The boys are picked 2nd and the girls 4th coming into this meet. The boys will have to contend with #1 Eustace, who was STATE RUNNER-UP last year and #3 Great Hearts Northern Oaks out of San Antonio who placed 3rd last year at the State meet. They didn't graduate anyone from last year's team, and they were Regional runner-ups to us this year. On the girls side it will be a battle for 1st between #1 Holliday and #2 Poth. Third is up for grabs but the favorite is Pilot Point who has one of the girls (Addison Hite) who will be contending for the individual State Title. We are hoping that maybe we can all have a strong race and offset her performance. If you load the UIL STATE app on your phone you can get live results of your Lytle Cross Country team at the State Meet at 11:40 am (3A Girls) and 12:10 (3A Boys) on 3NOV23. It has a menu tab on the top left which pops up a tab with Cross Country. On there it has an UNOFFICIAL leader board so you can keep track of our progress after every mile.

The Lytle Pirate Cross Country team will travel to Corpus Christi to participate in the 3A Region IV XC Championships on Monday, October 23, 2023. They are hoping to finish in the top 4 and advance to the State Meet that will be held at Old Settler's Park, Round Rock on November 3, 2023.   The Varsity girls will try to make it for the third consecutive year and only the third time in their history.  It is almost an entirely different team made up of mostly 9th and 10th graders who are trying to create their own legacy. If they can make it in, it will definitely be one of my high points in my career. The Varsity boys are trying to make it in for the sixth consecutive year and ninth time in their history.  They are also trying to win back-to-back Regional Championships and will have to try and do it without their #1/2 runner, Johnny Alvarez.   Below is the location and schedule Location: Dr. Jack Dugan Soccer & Track Stadium 800 Nile Dr, Corpus Christi, TX 78412 Schedule:  23October23 11:00 Varsity Girls (REGIONAL CHAMPIONS: '21) Senior Samantha Mujica  Sophomore Klayre Cook Sophomore Svetlana Lopez Sophomore Frances Scotello Sophomore Isabella Sewell Freshman Vanessa Ayala Freshman Laleina Reveira Freshman Addison Wagner 11:30 Varsity Boys (REGIONAL CHAMPIONS: '12, '19, '20, '22) Senior Brandon Obando Senior Abel Sanchez  Junior Johnny Alvarez  Junior Yandel Esquivez Junior Tristan Lopez  Sophomore Bryan Montes Sophomore Diego Reyna Sophomore Lucas Salazar Freshman Nathan Garza

Lytle Elementary invites you to participate in our Veterans Day Parade on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 9 am. Lytle Elementary is making plans for our annual Veterans Day Parade. We are so excited to celebrate all of you and I personally am always excited about this amazing opportunity to teach about our veterans, patriotism and love of country to the children of this community!  Please let me know if you have any questions or you can call the Lytle Elementary office if you need more information. In case of rain or bad weather, we will reschedule to the following Monday or the following week if needed.  All veterans are invited to participate in the parade. To register, please call Lytle Elementary at 830-709-5130. Participation is free. Veterans can begin lining up in their vehicles at the south end of Blume Drive beginning at 8:30 am. Decorate your vehicle with patriotic colors. Be sure to include your name, rank, and branch as part of your decor. (ie, a sign on your vehicle door or window) Please join us for a short patriotic performance immediately following the parade in the elementary parking lot. We will have attendants to direct you where to park. We ask that NO candy be given to students during the parade per our state's school law.  We want to say thank you! See you there!

Did you know that a school bus is one of the safest vehicles on the road? Did you know the official color of a school bus is called, "National School Bus Glossy Yellow"? Understanding Bus lights: Yellow flashing lights indicate the bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children. You should slow down and prepare to stop your vehicle. Red flashing lights and extended stop arms indicate the bus has stopped and children are getting on or off. You must stop your car and wait until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop-arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving, before you can start driving again.

October 20th Football Game To Raise Awareness of Child Abuse. Our home Varsity Football Game on Friday, October 20th is about more than just touchdowns and cheers; it's an opportunity for us to come together and make a positive impact on our community. Lytle ISD has joined forces with the Children's Alliance of South Texas (CAST) to shine a light on an important issue – recognizing the signs of child abuse. Before and during the game, you'll find dedicated representatives from CAST on hand, ready to share valuable information with parents and game attendees. In addition, our announcer will make important announcements throughout the game, reminding everyone about the significance of this collaboration. Together, we can learn how to identify and prevent child abuse, ensuring the safety and well-being of our children. To learn more about this impactful program, take a moment to watch this informative video: https://youtu.be/6SKGJI2KNrk?si=jG8-VO5goljmbW_5 We are eagerly looking forward to this collaboration with CAST as we work together to raise awareness throughout Lytle. Together, we can make a difference.
