Celebrate Good Times with our TIA Award Patrol

The Texas Education Agency's Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) is a performance pay program to recognize and retain effective teachers at the highest needs schools. TIA Provides a “pathway to $100k salary for the best teachers in the state.” There are three levels of designation: recognized, exemplary, master. On May 23, 2025, a group of district and campus leaders formed a festive award patrol to celebrate from classroom to classroom. At each campus, they sought out TIA award recipients based on the 2023-2024 school year. In Lytle ISD's first year participating, not all teachers were eligible for TIA: the primary campus had the largest number of teachers eligible - all except Pre-K, Specials and Special Education teachers. Elementary teachers were all eligible except Specials and Special Education teachers. At Junior High, only Reading and Math teachers (6 total) were eligible. At High School, only ninth and tenth grade English and Math teachers (4 total) were eligible. For our second year with TIA, the 2024-2025 school year, ALL Lytle teachers are eligible for designation! Watch the video to feel the fun and excitement of handing out the district's first TIA Awards to some very deserving teachers!

More on TIA:

● Allotments based on rural status and level of poverty in a school

● Amounts are recalculated annually

● Funding for the program comes directly from the state

● Once designated, a teacher receives the funding for 5 years

● Teachers can try to “upgrade” their designation level in future years, if desired
