At the January 22, 2024, Lytle Independent School District School Board meeting, the LISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously in support of a May 2024 Bond Election to address growth, renovations, new construction, and further supports academic opportunities for our Lytle community. 

Major projects included in the proposed bond:

• Addition of 16 Classroom Spaces at Primary

• Gym Addition at Primary

• Parking Addition/Relocation at Primary

• Playground Improvements at Elementary

• District Transportation Center Addition and Maintenance

Total bond dollar amount: $20,650,000

Tax rate:
Lytle ISD’s total tax rate for the 2024 tax year, is $1.0782 per $100 of assessed valuation ($0.76 M&O + $0.32 I&S).  If approved, the May 2024 Bond Program requires a projected I&S tax rate impact of 11.4¢.

For an average $200,000 home (less the $100,000 state mandated homestead exemption) the monthly impact to the homeowner would be $9.50 or $114.00 annually. 

Senior citizens who are 65 years old or older, and who have filed for a “freeze” or “ceiling” to be placed on their homestead school taxes, will not be impacted by a tax rate increase. Seniors can contact their tax appraisal district to receive the senior citizen exemption.
