Today, a gas smell at the High School was investigated by our Lytle ISD Operations leader, a licensed plumber and our natural gas provider. In an abundance of caution, all students and staff in the vicinity were moved to another location while the situation was confirmed safe. Gas service will be temporarily turned off and lunch service for Junior High and High School students will be modified. School operations continue as normal. Student safety is always our priority and we will send additional updates if needed.

Lytle Elementary invites you to participate in our Veterans Day Parade on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 9 am.
Lytle Elementary is making plans for our annual Veterans Day Parade. We are so excited to celebrate all of you and I personally am always excited about this amazing opportunity to teach about our veterans, patriotism and love of country to the children of this community! Please let me know if you have any questions or you can call the Lytle Elementary office if you need more information. In case of rain or bad weather, we will reschedule to the following Monday or the following week if needed.
All veterans are invited to participate in the parade.
To register, please call Lytle Elementary at 830-709-5130. Participation is free.
Veterans can begin lining up in their vehicles at the south end of Blume Drive beginning at 8:30 am.
Decorate your vehicle with patriotic colors. Be sure to include your name, rank, and branch as part of your decor. (ie, a sign on your vehicle door or window)
Please join us for a short patriotic performance immediately following the parade in the elementary parking lot. We will have attendants to direct you where to park.
We ask that NO candy be given to students during the parade per our state's school law.
We want to say thank you! See you there!

Did you know that a school bus is one of the safest vehicles on the road?
Did you know the official color of a school bus is called, "National School Bus Glossy Yellow"?
Understanding Bus lights:
Yellow flashing lights indicate the bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children. You should slow down and prepare to stop your vehicle.
Red flashing lights and extended stop arms indicate the bus has stopped and children are getting on or off. You must stop your car and wait until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop-arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving, before you can start driving again.
