Our Pirate Junior High debaters brought home second place and Tournament Top Speaker honors when they traveled to Dilley on Jan. 15 to take part in the UIL District Debate Tournament.
The Pirates who participated are all sixth graders and they went toe to toe with more experienced seventh and eighth graders from across the UIL district. All the students had positive critiques and impressed the judges.
The Pirate team of Vyolet Castro and Parker Leverton made it all the way to the final round and brought home second place! In addition, Parker Leverton was named as the Tournament Top Speaker.
Congratulations to all our debaters including Xavier Cisneros, Kallen Dubose, Maria Reyes, and Gunner Whitley for representing Lytle so well.
