On November 6, the 8th-grade football team ended its season with a home game against the Jourdanton Indians. We came out of the blocks fast, scoring on 4 plays into the game. 26 points later, we got the ball back on offense. A turnover and back-to-back special team blunders helped the Indians go to half 26-8. Our boys came out for the second half and fought admirably to have an onside kick opportunity with 1:45 left in the game, and us down 2. We recovered the onside, but an inadvertent whistle by the referee made us replay the kick. The defense tightened up and didn’t let them score in the 2nd half. We couldn’t be prouder of the effort. Although we lost the game, our boys learned how to face adversity and never give up. We appreciate our parents and our fans for supporting us all season.
Huge thanks to Coach Trevino and our entire Football coaching staff for their support during the season.
Shout out to our JH cheerleaders. Our team was well aware of their encouragement through the games. Thank you so much to Tina Reyna and Tiffany Perez for your hard work and dedication.
