SB 11

Senate Bill 11 requires districts to vote on whether to adopt a structured “period of prayer or Bible reading.”

Our decision not to adopt a formal SB 11 resolution is based on our desire to preserve students’ maximum flexibility to pray, read scripture, or discuss faith naturally and voluntarily throughout the day—just as the law already allows.

Lytle ISD supports student-led and voluntary Bible studies, prayer groups, and faith-based activities before school, during free time, and after school.

Declining SB 11 doesn’t mean we’re against prayer—it means we’re for individual freedom and every student’s right to live out their beliefs without restriction or separation. Our district will continue to support our students’ and staff’s faith journeys, as we always have, within the protections of state and federal law.
