Thursday, September 18th, your 7th grade Lytle Pirates hosted the Carrizo Springs Wildcats. The Wildcats came out firing on all cylinders, in the 1st quarter they put up 14 points. Then midway through the 2nd quarter Nolan Ruiz found a lane and returned another kickoff for a touchdown! That brings his total to 3 now on the season! Carrizo Springs added one more touchdown before the half, to bring the halftime score to 24-6. However, in the 2nd half the Lytle Pirates buckled down and played better defense and moved the ball down the field, and the entire 2nd half remained scoreless, 0-0! The final score ended up being 22-6. The 7th grade Pirates fell to a record of 0-3, however this team continues to show great improvement and determination to improve each and every week! Thank you for the continued support! We will play at Pearsall next Thursday evening.

The 8th grade FB Pirates were flying high and feeling good about themselves starting the season 2-0. Yesterday we hosted the Carrizo Springs Wildcats. Who would’ve known that they would come to Lytle with a gigantic piece of “humble pie”. By the time the game was over there was no doubt about who the better team was. We were pleased with our effort in the 2nd half. Despite the score, our team kept giving all they had. Proud of the effort, but time to get back to work.
