What an incredible day for our Junior High Cross Country team! The athletes showed heart, determination, and huge improvement in their 2-mile race, competing at Medina Valley coming away with some fantastic finishes.
7th Grade Girls (92 runners)
Karley Emerson – 37th place 18:29
Monica Mercado – 39th place 18:33
Both Karley and Monica powered through the course, pushing each other every step of the way and finishing strong, only four seconds apart!
8th Grade Girls (97 runners)
Anna Scotello – 9th place 14:33
Haleigh Monreal – 12th place 14:43
Anna and Haleigh dominated the field, finishing in the top 15 and showing off their speed and endurance. Big things are coming for these two!
7th Grade Boys (95 runners)
Mariano Davila – 3rd place 12:53
Drake Castro – 16th place 13:57
Max Cortinas – 25th place 14:36
Joseph Aquinaga – 88th place 23:07
Mariano finished incredibly in a 3rd-place finish! Drake and Max weren’t far behind, helping to secure a strong showing for the team, while Joseph battled hard to cross the finish line.
8th Grade Boys (100 runners)
Chase Beazley – 3rd place 11:58
Frankie Cantú – 4th place 12:08
Avery Vela – 22nd place 13:33
Zane Davenport – 26th place 13:52
Chase and Frankie were electric, claiming back-to-back top 5 finishes and showing they can run with the best! Avery and Zane rounded out the group with strong mid-pack times, proving our depth as a team.

I couldn’t be prouder of this group. Every runner showed hard work, determination, and progress from previous runs and practices. The future is bright for this team, and we can’t wait to see what they do next!
