Eva Burley Appointed Board of Trust for SMD 4

Please extend a warm Lytle Pirate welcome to Mrs. Eva Burley, who was appointed to our Lytle ISD Board of Trustees at the December 16, 2024 meeting. Mrs. Burley is a parent, volunteer, community member and local business owner. She recently served on Campus and District Improvement Committees, the Facility Planning Committee, the PTECH Advisory Board and completed Lytle ISD Ambassador Training.

After receiving her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University, Mrs. Burley's first teaching and coaching job was at Lytle High School in 2002. She taught for 16 years and coached for 21 years in Texas, South Dakota, and Louisiana. In South Dakota, she volunteered as a military Key Spouse (support personnel for other military spouses) when her husband's squadron was deployed. She also volunteered for five years as the Sports Director for the local Special Olympics delegation. Mrs. Burley stepped away from the classroom in 2023 and her family moved from Louisiana back to Lytle to help care for her sick father and to help run the family business.

Mrs. Burley's youngest brother attended Lytle Elementary, and her two sons currently attend Lytle schools. Says Mrs. Burley, "I truly enjoy serving others. I want to help support Lytle students and educators. I hope to make a difference by continuing to strengthen the already-strong connection between Lytle's community and our district."

This past summer, Mrs. Burley recorded a Lytle Love Community Message, and while she could not have known about her appointment to our School Board, more than six months later, it's a perfect time to share her message from the heart.
