Thank you, Coach Armentrout and Coach Hans for this summary covering ALL THE TEAMS playing Junior High Girls Basketball.
On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, our JH girls traveled to Crystal City to play in what would be an aggressive and interesting evening. We took a 7th grade A & B team and an 8th grade A team for this game.
Our 7th grade B teams came out working hard and were able to outscore Crystal City in every quarter. We had multiple girls put up points and the girls came out with a victory 18-2.
7th Grade A team was a tough game for our girls. We traveled with only 7 and by the end of the game had only 3 people on the court. The girls were told early on that the game was going to be called close and they needed to make sure to keep their hands to themselves. Unfortunately, we had 3 girls foul out and in the 4th quarter had 1 leave with an ankle injury. They girls ended with a tough loss 34-41.
8th Grade A - We reminded the girls before we started that last year was a rough game. We knew they were quick and that they liked to press. The girls played a fast game and were just unable to recover from their press, and we took a loss ending the game 18-37.
On Thursday, December 12th , our girls played at home and took on Natalia. It is always a fun game when we play at home and have people in the stands.
7th B - It is nice when we start the evening out with a win and our girls did just that. They came out strong and did not let up, they beat Natalia 12-6.
7th A - What a game!! The girls went back and forth most of the night and the game stayed close for the whole game. In the 4th quarter the girls trailed by 2 and they tried so hard to bring the game within reach but were unfortunately not able to come out with a victory. The girls lost 19-23.
8th B - We have been battling sickness across both A & B teams and this week was not different. Our B team was down to 6 players (we moved up a couple to A team) and with a 12-minute running clock the girls got very little rest. Unfortunately, the shots were not falling for us and we took a loss 4-5.
8th A - The girls came out and were ready for a good game after the previous week. We had two players that we moved up and were hoping would give us some good minutes so that everyone could rest and go back out again stronger. All of the girls contributed valuable minutes, and we were able to beat Natalia 20-10.
This Thursday our girls travel to Jourdanton to play.
Thank you,
Coach Hans and Coach Armentrout
