Thank you, Coach Arnold Martinez for sharing your game recap and insights.
Our eighth grade football team showed up to Cole high school ready to redeem a poor showing last week and boy did they. It took a few minutes to get rolling but once they did, they didn’t look back. Our defense played by committee and made things difficult for the Cougar offense. By halftime, every one of our 29 players had a rep on the defensive side. It was fun to watch them all contribute to the win. Christian Cortinas, Gabriel Stech, Brayden Robinette and Haven Casias stood out on defense. Our offense was firing on all cylinders. We scored on every offensive possession. Getting into the end zone was Burl Jopling, Andrew Frausto, Xzander Flores and Elliot Mata. The stars of the game were the guys blocking up front. Levi Bates, James Thompson, Chevy Frias, Ryan Hendrickson, Adrian Pantoja, Azaylious Garcia, Jesse Rangel, and Jose Patlan locked onto defenders all night. It was a “Great Night to be a Pirate.” Next up is the much anticipated re-match with Crystal City on Halloween night……...ooooooohhhhhh, scarrrryyyyyy. We lost to Crystal City last year 42-28.
