The Earp brothers and Doc Holiday from the movie Tombestone 1993

On Thursday, November 2, 2023, your 8th grade boys went down to Crystal City shorthanded and out manned. It was just like the battle at the OK Corral. With justice on our side and grit in our teeth, we showed what we are all about!!! There weren't any obstacles that these boys didn't and wouldn't overcome, making sure they were picking up the slack for their posse that didn't make the trip.

Doc Holiday, Virgil Earp, Wyatt Earp, and Morgan Earp (Tombstone movie 1993)

Like a corrupt judge, (the officials) they allowed Johnny Ringo, Ike Clinton, and Wild Bill Brocius along with the rest of their Cowboys clan to run wild on the field like a lawless town filled with silver. It was a brutal first half and we went into halftime tied 8-8. We regrouped and had a message for Crystal City!

You called down the thunder...Well now you got it.

After overcoming a knee injury, Matt Weimar came back in the game with Wyatt Earp like intentions.

You tell them I'm coming...and Hell's coming with me.

Matt, along with a rejuvenated offensive line, led an attack that scored a touchdown on the first drive of the second half putting Lytle up 16-8.

Being without one of our top running backs, Angel De La Rosa put the team on his back and had a message for CC. His was more like a Doc Holiday conversation that spoke volumes of how he saw the second half going.

Fight's not with you holiday...I beg to differ sir, we started a game we did not finish, play for blood, remember...I was only foolin...I wasn't.

Our boys were relentless and perfect! After Michael Scotello put a clean and Awesome hit on their Quarterback, stopping them on 4th down, he had some Doc Holiday words as well.

Why Johnnhy Ringo, you look like someone just walked over your grave.

But what truly stood out last night was a young man named Jason Fuentes who had two interceptions and suffered a broken collarbone from an absolute cheap shot that got a CC player ejected from the game. Jason is all heart and a true leader of young men! With his interception, it sealed a 24-14 win and a 5-3 record. An excellent season by these young men who were just 4 plays from having an undefeated season!

We are so proud of so many of these boys and want to send A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR CHEERLEADERS, CHEER SPONSORS, ADMINISTRATORS, CAFETERIA LADIES, and ABOVE ALL ELSE, YOU THE TEACHERS, FOR YOUR ENDLESS SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THIS SEASON!

We were a close group of fellas and enjoyed every bit of it.  Our team forged friendships and loyalty to one another through adversity and competition. This is our final message to all that know how true this is.

I'd rather have one friend as loyal as Doc Hoiday than 1000 friends that don't know what loyalty is.

THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING EVERYONE HAS DONE TO MAKE THIS A VERY MEANINGFUL AND MEMORABLE SEASON!
