When I think of Cowboys and Oil, I THINK OF THE GREATEST SHOW EVER, not Cotulla!!! And just like the greatest show ever, so was the 8th grade boys football team last night!!! After a long trip to Cowboy country, we started off a little sluggish, sort of like Sue Ellen on a Friday night, but starting the second quarter, these boys played more like Bobby Ewing. And if you remember, he was an All American at SMU in the show. Just like Bobby, they played with class, dedication, and everyone was pulling for them.
We ran the ball with the work ethic of a Ray Krebbs and had graceful footwork like Pamela Ewing. Though at times we showed a little immaturity, like Lucy Ewing, we were resilient and strong, and overcame any obstacles that got in our way, just like MISS ELLIE!!!
Like Jock Ewing, Coach Scotello and I are tough on our boys, but we love them dearly and wouldn't trade them for anything!!!
When you are great, you make the cover of Time Magazine. And just like the magazine asks WHODUNIT?? The answer is WEDUNIT!!!
With excellent play from AJ Cantu, Angel De La Rosa, and a superb job by the offensive line, WEDUNIT WITH A 32-12 defeat of The Cotulla Cowboys, (A.K.A...the Cliff Barnes).
Dallas is known as the Big-D, so is our defense, which is led by Michael Scotello and the Pirate Posse!!
Other schools love to hate us, like everyone loved hating J.R.
But also, like J.R., you can't keep us down and we will climb to the top no matter what it takes.
Your boys are 3-2 and take on Jourdanton next week.
