Our Pirates traveled to Hondo on Oct. 16 and came up short, 42–20. While the scoreboard didn't reflect the outcome we worked and prepared for, one thing remains certain: the fight in this football program is far from over.
Adversity has a way of revealing who you are. It challenges your character, tests your belief, and demands a response. Our message to our young men continues to be simple: Maintain positive posture. Handle hard better. Decide Different!
We cannot always control the circumstances we face, but we can ALWAYS control how we respond to them. When things get difficult, we don't hang our heads. We keep our chins up, our chests out, and our eyes forward. We don't allow disappointment to define us. We allow it to DEVELOP us!
Our standard doesn't change because of a scoreboard. Our belief doesn't disappear because of adversity. And our commitment to one another doesn't waver because the road gets difficult.
Now, we turn the page and prepare for another incredible opportunity!
We return home Oct. 23 to Walter Joyce Stadium as we welcome the Devine Warhorses, the #1 team in our district, to Lytle, Texas! And we couldn't be more FIRED UP about the opportunity!
Upsets happen every single week because teams make a decision to BELIEVE when others give them every reason not to. We respect the challenge in front of us, but we will never back down from it. Our young men will prepare, compete, and fight for one another, for this program, and for the community that continues to stand behind them.
We don't need the world to believe in us. We believe in US!
Thank you for continuing to pour into our kids day in and day out!
