Lytle Powerlifter Jaden Araujo

Senior Jaden Araujo competed at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association (THSPA) State Championships held in Abilene on March 27, representing Lytle High School in the Division 3 meet. This marked Jaden’s second appearance at the state level.

Last year, Jaden faced a tough setback, bombing out during the squat and being unable to continue the meet. From that moment on, he had one goal in mind: return to Abilene and finish what he started.

And that’s exactly what he did! Jaden successfully completed all three lifts totaling 890 pounds. He lifted a 335-pound squat, a 215-pound bench press, and a 340-pound deadlift. His performance earned him a ninth-place finish in the state securing a top 10 spot in the 114-pound weight class.

Jaden represented our powerlifting team well! We are so incredibly proud of him!
