The Lytle tennis teams had a strong showing at the Jourdanton Tournament March 17-18, with both junior varsity and varsity athletes competing with determination and sportsmanship. Our junior varsity team brought home several medals, ranging from first place finishes – Robin Alvarado and Emma Hemenway – to consolation victories – Mikayla Mata; reflecting their hard work and growth.
Our varsity mixed doubles teams also played exceptionally well throughout the tournament, demonstrating great teamwork and resilience on the court. The heat unfortunately got the better of them, and they secured third place. In girls’ doubles, our athletes faced tough competition from Hondo and fought hard in a closely contested match, narrowly falling in a tiebreaker, but a great effort by Janelle Young and Marlen Vazquez.
Overall, we are proud of the effort, perseverance, and sportsmanship shown by all of our players.
