Lytle High School Junior Varsity Tennis players Robin Alvarado and Emma Hemenway placed second overall in Girls Doubles at the Edison Bear Tennis 16th Annual Invitational on Feb. 5-7. They beat teams such as Wagner, Edison, and Lanier.
Aiden Dresch and Matthew Wimer, also on the Junior Varsity team, won Consolation Finalist in Boys Doubles initially losing to Crystal City, but bouncing back against Edison, South San and Randolph. Although he did not medal, Emiliano Cardenas played well in Boys Singles. He initially lost to Wagner but rebounded wonderfully against South San and McCollum.
The Varsity team had a rough day, but most stayed in the main draw through the first and second rounds. We have some work to do if we plan to get back to state this year.
