The girls lost to Falls City on November 18, 37-26. We started slow and let them take the lead in the 1st 15-4. We settled down in the 2nd and outscored them 14-7, so heading into the half, we were only down by 4. However, we struggled shooting; we were only 20.5% from the field, and what hurt us the most was that from the free-throw line, we were 8/20. We have to focus more on knocking down shots and definitely taking advantage of free-throw opportunities.
Leading the team was
Aliana Cardenas with 6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals
Gia Gonzales also had 6 points and 4 rebounds
Lilly Gallegos with 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal
Zabella Garza with 4 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal
Landynn Guzman with 3 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals
Loundyon Perez with 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal
The girls will head to the Southside tourney starting November 20. These games will help us build that team chemistry we need. The girls will play two games tomorrow, and how we did will set our games for Friday and Saturday.
