End of course STAAR testing for grades 9-11 will happen next week in the Lytle Junior High on the following schedule:

June 18, 2024 - English 1

June 19, 2024 - Algebra 1

June 20, 2024 - English 2

June 21, 2024 - Biology and US History

If your student is already attending summer school, or if your student did not attend summer school but plans to retest, please make sure they arrive at the Junior High no later than 7:30am to get room assignments and enjoy free breakfast served from 7:30-8am in the cafeteria. If you are unsure whether your student is a STAAR EOC retester, please contact the High School by phone, 830-709-5105 or email tracy.emerson@lytleisd.org. Once students arrive in their assigned testing rooms they will be asked to:

  • Open their Chromebook. The teacher will provide a loaned Chromebook, if needed.

  • Students must turn off all personal electronic devices (phones, watches, ear buds, etc.) and place all bags and other items in the front of the room. Students may not access their bags for any reason while the test is in session. If they anticipate needing something from their bag, they must take it out before the test begins.

  • The teacher will collect all personal electronic devices from EACH student and place them in the testing bin with a label.

  • All students are required to sign the Electronic Device Policy before testing can begin.

Students who are finished with testing at noon will be allowed to leave the classroom and their personal electronic devices will be returned to them as they walk out, not before. Those who are not finished with their tests at noon are provided lunch in the classroom and will resume testing at 12:30pm. Transportation is available at 2:15pm for students who test beyond 12pm.

We want our students to be successful! Please make sure they get plenty of rest the night before and get them to school on time!

Thank you,

Jacob Escamilla
