Good News in Our Pirate Family!
The NFHS Coaches Association is pleased to announce that Lytle ISD Coach Gilbert Ruiz is named the 2022-23 Section 6 Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year! Ruiz was specifically chosen by the NFHS Coaches Association Advisory Commitee as the most deserving for this honor and selected based upon his coaching performance in the 2022-23 school year, his community involvement, school involvement and philosophy of coaching.
The NFHS relies on its member state associations to recognize those who are leading their sport, shaping their athletes, and contributing in a positive way to their community. Excerpted here from the official notification letter, "We are pleased to recognize Coach Ruiz as a leader and role model. We thank him for his many contributions to the youth of our country and your community."
