Yesterday, November 8, 2023, was a very special day for Lytle High School as we watched Calyssa Sevier sign for a full Athletic Scholarship to Division 2 Midwestern State University. We have not had an athlete in the last 12 years be able to sign early on this day. Calyssa continues to make history and break records and her basketball season does not start until tomorrow.
The support from the entire school and community was amazing. We are all so proud of Calyssa and she proved hard work definitely pays off when you put the work and time into it. We want to thank Mr. Beard for showing us the classroom side of Calyssa as an amazing welder. We would like to thank Gene Smith, her AAU Coach from Dallas with the Lone Star Magic organization, for all his help the last several years.
The support system Calyssa has from her mom Tammie Tilley, Grandma Brenda Marsh Tilley, Uncle Chad Tilley along with sisters Ashlynn and Brenham is phenomenal.
We hope all of you can come out and watch this Senior group finish their last ride together, as we hope to make another long run in the playoffs. Go Pirates!
