Lytle High School culinary students took their learning beyond the classroom by preparing and serving desserts for Lytle State Bank’s customer appreciation event on Oct. 30.
Students spent the days leading up to the event preparing desserts before serving their creations to guests at the bank. The catering opportunity allowed them to put classroom lessons into practice, gaining experience in food preparation, presentation and customer service.
Through this hands-on experience, students strengthened their teamwork, time management and professional skills while sharing their talents with the community. Opportunities like this help students connect what they learn in school to the expectations of the workplace and explore potential careers.
Culinary is one of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes offered among nine areas of study at Lytle High School. These courses help students develop practical skills and prepare for future education and career opportunities.
Lytle ISD thanks Lytle State Bank for supporting our students and providing a meaningful opportunity to learn beyond the classroom.
