What a match for Lytle Varsity Volleyball!
The Lady Pirates put on an incredible performance against the Carrizo Springs Wildcats Sept. 15, battling through five intense sets and showing tremendous heart, grit, and determination from beginning to end. Although Lytle came up just short in the fifth set, 13–15, there was so much to be proud of in the way these girls competed tonight.

Offensively, sophomore Emma Fernandez had a huge night, leading the Lady Pirates with 19 kills! Lillian Evans added 9 kills, Karley Aguilera finished with 8, Madison Hernandez had 7, Macey Ford contributed 4, and Payton Devaney added 2.
The Lady Pirates were equally impressive defensively. Freshman Priscilla Martinez was outstanding, leading the team with an incredible 32 digs! Mikailah Mejia recorded 21 digs, Loundyn Perez had 17, Lila Cortinas added 11, Karley Aguilera had 9, Lillian Evans and Milahni Mejia each finished with 8, and Madison Hernandez added 7.
Running the offense, Lila Cortinas led the varsity with 36 assists, while Karley Aguilera added another 13.
One of the most impressive performances of the night came from the service line. Lillian Evans and Madison Hernandez were absolute standouts! Between the two of them, they served 57 times, with the Lady Pirates earning 53 points during their combined service rotations. That is an incredible statistic and a testament to the pressure they consistently put on Carrizo Springs throughout the match!
And the future continues to look bright for Lytle Volleyball!
Both JV teams had outstanding performances, sweeping Carrizo Springs in straight sets!

From JV2 to JV1 to Varsity, tonight was another great example of the growth, competitiveness, and fight within the Lytle Volleyball program.
The varsity may not have gotten the final two points tonight, but they gave us plenty to be proud of. They battled for five sets, played with heart, and never backed down. This group continues to show just how competitive they can be and tonight was one heck of a volleyball match!
