Friday night (Sept. 4) didn’t end the way we wanted it to. We walked off our home field with a tough loss, but sometimes the nights that hurt the most have the opportunity to build us the most.
And there was still so much worth recognizing.
First, OUR COMMUNITY. You made home feel like HOME. The energy, support, noise, and love surrounding our kids Friday night mattered. Our players felt it. Our coaches felt it. We are incredibly grateful to represent a community that continues to stand behind its kids!
Second, OUR KIDS KEPT FIGHTING FOR MORE. When adversity hit and our boat started to rock, they didn’t stop rowing. There was no quit. Our players continued to compete, continued to make plays, and continued to fight for the guy beside them. That matters!
We also want to give tremendous credit to the San Diego Vaqueros. They are a strong, physical, well-coached football team that challenged us and exposed areas where we must continue to grow. Games like Friday night will prepare us for what is ahead as district play approaches in the coming weeks.
The scoreboard tells us we lost a football game.
It does not tell the entire story of who we are becoming!
Adversity rocked our boat Friday night....and that is exactly why we talk so much about continuing to gROW! Rough water reveals your foundation. It tests your connection. It challenges your belief.
And if we respond the right way, we will be BUILT FOR BETTER because of it!
We will learn from it. We will own it. We will grow from it.
And we will keep rowing together.
Thank you for continuing to believe in our kids and walk alongside us through this journey!
We are back on the road this week at Bandera on Friday, Sept. 11 with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
