Our Lytle JV football team took on Thomas Jefferson High School Mustangs (5A) on Sept. 2. The theme for our program this week, "NO EMPTY HANDS," could not have been more fitting. Every single player contributed, stepping up whenever a Pirate needed support. Even when the momentum shifted, our boys stayed unified and kept grinding.

Game Highlights

• Defensive Play of the Game:  Gabriel Stech intercepted a pass, setting our offense up with great field position.

• Offensive Play of the Game: In the final seconds, James Thompson delivered a clutch pass to a wide-open Xzander Flores to take the lead.

Scoring Summary

• James Thompson: 55-yard touchdown pass to Jaime Yanez

• Christian Cortinas: 30-yard touchdown run

• James Thompson: 10-yard touchdown pass to Jaime Yanez

• James Thompson: 25-yard game-winning touchdown pass to Xzander Flores
