Your Lytle Pirate XC Team traveled down the road to Medina Valley for their third meet of the year.
The Varsity Boys ran the Large School (5A/6A), finishing 3rd out of 15 schools. We had two boys finish in the top 10 (Jacob Cantu-4th, Adrian Reyna-7th) with the backend running better.
We had two girls run in the Large School (5A/6A) 5k race. Both Elyse Cortinas (16th) and Annalise Quintanilla (24th) set PR's in their 5k's.
The JV Boys ran in the Small School (1A-4A) finishing 6th/11. We had two (Shawn Robinette-6th, Frank Cantu-10th) finish in the top 10.
We had two girls run in the Small School (1A-4A). Sophia Herrera (26th) and Addison Wagner (46th).
We had three girls (Hailey Montes-1st, Haleigh Monreal-29th, Kaycee Galindo-36th) who participated in the JV Girls division with Hailey Montes again capturing first on her birthday!
In the picture above with the Varsity boys, we had the pleasure of having two legends of the Lytle XC Program attend. These guys were the pioneers of our program as they helped set the bar for all those who have followed. I have nothing but respect for these young men. Cesar Gonzalez (left) in 2012 is one of only two Individual XC State Champions I have had with Brandon Lacy (in '09) being the other. And on the far right is Jeremy Juarez who was the first person I took to state in XC and the first to medal (5th) in 2006. He is the one who I call the Godfather of our program because he is the one who started it all by motivating me to be a better coach. After watching the joy his large family had after the race, it motivated me to want to bring that to as many families as I possibly could. That has been my mission, and he made that all possible.
