Volleyball at MC Ace Volley Fest

Our Lytle Pirates are back from a competitive weekend of volleyball, and we wanted to share an update on what our girls accomplished at the MC Ace-High Volley Fest in Tilden, Texas!

Our Varsity girls battled their way into the Championship Bracket and ultimately finished 4th overall in a tournament filled with 16 talented and competitive teams.

The weekend didn't come without adversity. After a couple of our main players were taken out of the lineup, we had girls step into positions they don't normally play and, for two of them, had never played before. Instead of backing down, they stepped up.

A special shoutout goes to:
Sophomore, Karley Aguilera
Sophomore, Lila Cortinas
Freshman, Priscilla Martinez

These three played major roles in keeping us at the top of the bracket. They showed tremendous grit, determination, versatility, and competitive spirit, doing whatever their team needed in the moment. Watching them embrace the challenge and continue fighting against some very talented athletes was something we are incredibly proud of.

While fourth place may be what goes down on paper, this tournament gave us something even more valuable, an opportunity to see how our girls respond when things don't go according to plan. They adjusted, competed, trusted one another, and kept fighting. Those are the moments that help build a team.

And now… we're ready to come HOME! 🖤💛

🏐 Tuesday — HOME vs. Del Rio
⏰ 6 p.m.

We would LOVE to pack the gym with our Lytle ISD family and black out the competition.  The theme for the game is BLACK OUT🏴‍☠️!

After Del Rio, join us for the Community Pep Rally on Wednesday at 6 p.m., and then Varsity will hit the road again for our next tournament in Devine on Friday and Saturday as we continue preparing, improving, and building toward district play.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Lytle Volleyball and these hardworking young ladies. We are proud of the progress we're seeing, but even more excited about where this group can go.
