With more than 150 years of combined service, five dedicated Lytle ISD employees are retiring this year, leaving behind a legacy of commitment, compassion, and impact on generations of Pirate students.
Randy Beard has devoted 48 years of his life to education, including 38 years at Lytle ISD. Throughout his career, he served as a teacher, an assistant principal, and a principal, helping guide students academically and personally while supporting countless families and staff members along the way. His leadership and dedication have left a lasting mark on the district and the field of education.
Paula Campa dedicated 36 years to Lytle ISD. More than 26 of those years were spent serving students at Lytle Elementary School. Throughout her career, she also worked at the Junior High campus and in the district’s Information Technology Department. Her versatility, commitment, and willingness to serve wherever needed made her an invaluable member of the Pirate family.
Joe Lytle served the students and staff of Lytle ISD for 24 years through roles on all four campuses. He joined the district as a Resource and Inclusion Instructor in the Special Education Department. He then served as an Elementary School General Education Teacher. He moved on to Instructional Technology and served the Primary, Elementary and Junior High campuses. He then transitioned to Media Specialist in the High School library. He is retiring with the dual role of Media Specialist/Life Skills.
Danna Gilmore spent 23 years in education. She began her career with the district in the Information Technology Department before transitioning to the classroom, where she spent the last 12 years teaching at Lytle High School. Her passion for learning and commitment to student success impacted countless young people during her career.
Alexandra Rios devoted 22 years to serving Lytle ISD students across three of the district’s four campuses. She is retiring from her role as an Intervention Specialist at Lytle Junior High School. Throughout her career, she worked tirelessly to support students academically and emotionally, helping them overcome challenges and achieve success.
The contributions of these dedicated educators and staff members extend far beyond the years listed beside their names. They have shaped lives, built relationships, and helped make Lytle ISD a stronger community.
