Lytle ISD staff meet with Avance and ESC 20 staff for bus transfer

Lytle ISD is expanding its transportation resources with the addition of three school buses, thanks to a partnership with Avance in San Antonio.

The buses were officially transferred today from Avance’s Head Start program to Lytle ISD’s Head Start program, where they will support our littlest Pirates.

The transfer was facilitated by Debbie Akers from Education Service Center (ESC), Region 20, who helped with the disposition of the buses.

As Avance’s transportation needs evolved, the organization identified an opportunity to put the buses to continued use in a way that benefits students. Working alongside ESC Region 20, Avance arranged for the ownership of the buses to be transferred to Lytle ISD.

“We are grateful to Avance for partnering with us on the transfer of these buses,” said Lytle ISD Superintendent Dr. Dustin Breithaupt. “Our youngest students in the Head Start program will benefit from these additional transportation resources.”

Special thanks go to Debbie Akers, Raymon VanCleave, Avance Facilities and Transportation Manager, and Elida Gonzales, Avance Chief Financial Officer, for their efforts in making this transfer happen.
