Lytle High School’s Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program took part in a formal Pass in Review and Change of Command ceremony on April 10 in Somerset, marking a significant moment of recognition and transition for its cadets.
The event brought together cadets, instructors, families, and community members to celebrate the accomplishments of the program over the past year.
A key highlight of the event was the Change of Command, a symbolic military tradition in which leadership responsibilities are formally transferred from outgoing student leaders to the incoming command team. This moment underscores the continuity of leadership and the trust placed in the next generation of cadet officers.
Throughout the ceremony, cadets were recognized for their achievements with awards in academics, leadership, and community service. These honors reflect the JROTC program’s mission to develop well-rounded students who excel both in the classroom and in their communities.
The Lytle JROTC program operates as a joint initiative with Somerset ISD, with Lytle cadets proudly serving as part of the Bulldog Battalion. The partnership provides students with opportunities to build leadership skills, citizenship, and personal responsibility in a structured and supportive environment.
The ceremony not only celebrated individual accomplishments but also reinforced the values of teamwork, dedication, and service that define the Bulldog Battalion.
