Klayre Cook Athlete of the Week

Senior Klayre Cook will be featured on KSAT-12's Scholar Athlete of the Week segment that will air March 8 during the 10 p.m. newscast.

A member of the cross-country and track teams, Klayre exceeds on the field and in the classroom. She is second place in the senior class, president of the National Honor Society and she recently signed with Texas Lutheran University to be on their 2026-2027 cross-country and track teams. She plans to major in Business Administration and minor in Psychology with a goal of becoming a human resources professional.

In athletics, Klayre has received numerous awards. In track, she is a three-time district champ in the 4x400M relay, a two-time district champ in the 800M, and she was All District and All Area for three years. In cross-country, she and the Lytle High School team were 3A third-place state medalists two years in a row (2022 and 2023), and fifth place in 2025. She is a three-year state letterman, and 2025-2026 Academic All-State First Team.

Klayre also has been active in FFA as a steer and rabbit showman.
