Three Lady Pirate powerlifters are headed to the THSWPA Region V Championships and the Lytle community is invited to join in a send-off celebration March 4 at 9:15 a.m. at the True Value Hardware. Senior Janelle Massiate, Junior Ily Winter, and Sophomore Mia Diaz will compete March 5 in the 3A Division 1 Meet in Edinburg at the Bert Ogden Arena.
Mia Diaz will compete in the 198-weight class.
Ily Winter will compete in the 242-weight class.
Janelle Massiate will compete in the 220-weight class.
These young ladies have put in the early mornings, the extra reps, and the mental endurance required to compete among the best in the region. They have set a new goal now that they have punched their tickets to Regionals: advancing to the THSWPA 3A State Meet. Every lift, every attempt, and every ounce of effort now brings them one step closer to that next milestone. We are beyond proud of the discipline they’ve shown and the standard they continue to set for our powerlifting program.
