The girls basketball team traveled to Dilley and took care of business on Jan. 20. The Lady Pirates beat Dilley 55-32.
We had a slow start going into the half, only up 20-15. We had Loundyn Perez hit one of her buzzer-beater shots that got our momentum going. After some adjustments at the half, the girls came out better on defense as we scored 21 points on Dilley's turnovers. We had 18 steals from our press, and we outscored them 23-5 in the fourth quarter. We hit 9 three pointers and went 4-4 from the free throw line. The girls are now 5-3 in District and stay in the fourth-place spot. We are so proud of all of the girls. They keep stepping up when we need it the most.
