Volleyball Season Comes to a Heartwarming End

As the volleyball season for our district has come to a close, I just want to take a moment to say how proud I am of this team!  Coming in as the new head coach and being a Lytle Alumni, I wasn't sure what to expect, but from day one, these athletes showed up with heart, grit, and willingness to grow.  Though we definitely had growing pains throughout, we learned together, pushed each other, and built something special both on and off the court.

I've watched players step into new roles, celebrate big wins, and learn from tough losses.  More than anything, I've seen a group of young women come together as a family and fight for wins, and that's what it's all about.  I had a goal for the girls this season, and that was to instill certain values within the team:  Respect, Responsibility, and Accountability.  I knew once that was met as a whole, everything else would fall into place.  We ended the season achieving that goal and knowing this was just the beginning!  The future is bright, and I can't wait to see where we go from here!
