10-9-2025 Message About Locker Room Incident

Dear Parents,

Yesterday after practice, 18 of our football players were involved in a roughhousing incident in the locker room that went too far, resulting in one student being injured. A coach immediately intervened, and the student received appropriate care. Administrators and coaches will continue to check on this player and his family.

This type of behavior is never acceptable in Lytle ISD. Our coaching staff has already implemented new supervision and locker room procedures to ensure all players clearly understand the line between friendly play and actions that can cause harm.

We also recognize that our football team did not live up to the high expectations we hold for all Lytle student-athletes. In addition to individual consequences assigned to those directly involved, the team will participate in a mandatory community service day. This will be an opportunity for them to demonstrate their commitment to representing Lytle with pride, integrity, and respect—both on and off the field.

Thank you for your continued support as we guide our students to grow in character as well as in skill.
