Seguin Cross Country Meet

Your Lytle Pirate XC team competed in their last regular season XC meet of the year in Seguin. They got one last look at some teams that they won't get to compete against the rest of the way, but they provided us with a good test heading into the CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON. The team now has a week and a half to get themselves ready for what they have been training all summer for, the opportunity to get to the State Meet.

The varsity boys started our Saturday morning running in the 5A/6A division against some very formidable opponents. Though we were missing 2 of our runners, it was our last opportunity to run against that type of competition to get us ready for what's to come. We opted to run up one last time finishing a respectable 5th out of 17 teams only 8 points away from 3rd. We had 3 runners finish in the top 15 as Diego Reyna finished 9th, Jacob Cantu 10th, and Adrian Reyna 12th. Sebastian Garcia (29th) and Nathan Garza(51st of 125 runners) helped complete the team. Though the team lost Jaden Castro for hopefully just 2 weeks, they got some relief as Bryan Montes was cleared to run again after being out since the Medina Valley Meet on 30Aug25, almost a month.

The varsity girls finished 3rd out of 11 teams in the 1A-4A division,12 points behind #4 in 4A (Davenport) and 4 points behind #1 in 1A(Tilden McMullen County). We had two girls finish in the top 15 as Frances Scotello finished 7th and Kaycee Galindo 15th out of 83 runners. Not far was the rest of the pack as Svetlana Lopez came in 18th, Elyse Cortinas 20th, Klayre Cook 29th, Kimora Sanchez 39th, Addison Wagner 42nd and Isabella Sewell 67th. Last year the girl's season was cut short due to injuries after the District Meet. We are hoping this year we can stay healthy and see what kind of run we can have to redeem ourselves from last year.

We had 2 freshman boys run in the 5A/6A JV division. Shawn Robinette had a personal best running a 18:23 finishing 9th and Weston Cook finished 66thout of 156 runners.

The team now runs in the District 28-3A XC meet on 8Oct25 in Dilley. The boys are chasing their 8th straight District Title while the girls are chasing their 6th straight.
