After tons of rain and a whole lot of raking and praying, the Pirates faced off against Hondo at home last Friday night. The Owls jumped to a 3-run lead in the 2nd on 2 walks and 2 doubles. Lytle answered back in the 4th inning on a double by Colin Wood who was driven in by an RBI single from Mason Hill.
Hondo added 3 more runs, all with 2 outs, on 3 singles, a hit-by-pitch and a stolen base. The Pirates were only able to answer with 1 run in the 7th on a single by Hill who was driven in by Damien Barco's fielder's choice.
All in all, we tip our hat to the Owls. They outplayed us.
The Pirates travel next to Crystal City on Tuesday, 4/1.
