Welcome Deputy Enrique Lopez, Lytle ISD School Resource Officer!

Lytle ISD is proud to welcome back a Class of 2009 Lytle Pirate, Enrique Lopez, a new additional School Resource Officer! Back in June, when our Lytle ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2025–2026 school year budget, they invested in some critical needs for the district and our staff's commitment to our students. One of those big items was the approval of an additional SRO position to help cover our Primary and Elementary campuses. Please help us extend a warm welcome to Deputy Lopez. In his own words, he shares the path that led him to this point in his career:

"I’m originally from East Chicago, Indiana, and I moved to Texas in 5th grade, where I began attending Lytle Elementary. I proudly graduated from Lytle High School with the class of 2009. I’ve spent more than 7 years serving my community in law enforcement and am passionate about giving back to the place that helped shape who I am.

I’m a proud father to two amazing kids — an 8-year-old son and a 13-year-old daughter — both of whom attend Lytle ISD. My wife and I have been together for more than 16 years, raising our family in this close-knit community we love.

Now, I’m proud to be back at Lytle ISD — not just as an alumnus and parent, but as your School Resource Officer, along with Deputy Rick Valdez. I am committed to protecting the children and ensuring a safe, secure environment for all students and staff."

When you see him around the district, be sure to say, "Hi," and welcome Officer Lopez!
