Superintendent Dr. Dustin Breithaupt message to Pirate staff: celebrate growth and build on this momentum

I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to our entire Pirate Staff for a successful launch to the new school year. Hard work and careful planning were evident as we welcomed our students and families back. I received many compliments from family and community members about how smooth these last two weeks have been and I am so proud of everyone's efforts!

I wanted to share an important update on our district’s state accountability ratings. This year, Lytle ISD showed significant growth in both our overall rating and in several individual domains.

District Overall: We improved from a D (62) in 2024 to a C (72) in 2025, gaining 10 points.

Domain Growth: Multiple domains show year-over-year increases, reflecting the collective effort of our staff.

Attached are two graphics highlighting our Domain-by-Domain Growth (2024 → 2025) and a breakdown of scores in each area and our overall district growth. We outperformed many other districts in our area, and our PIRATE STAFF made it happen.

As I mentioned at this year's convocation, we should pause to celebrate this progress while also recognizing that being a "C" district is not our destiny. We need to build on this strong momentum, keep our focus on student success, and push ourselves to Eat the Rhombus and Exceed the Standard.

Thank you for serving our Pirates!

Dr. Dustin Breithaupt
Superintendent - Lytle ISD
