The tensions were high in Game 1 of the Regional Semi-Finals in Karnes City last night. Jair Flores started the game on the mound and, in a gutsy performance, gave up 1 run on 5 hits in 6 innings.
Lytle scored first in the 2nd inning on a solo homerun by Toby Davila over the left field wall. Your Pirates played excellent defense throughout the game and held the lead going into the 6th. Orange Grove tied the game on a hit by pitch, a groundball and a single.
Our offense just could not get the job done last night. Hats off to Orange Grove for a fine pitching performance. Orange Grove scored on a walk and a walk off double to win the game in the 7th inning.
Game 2 will begin at 6:00 pm this evening in Karnes City. Game 3 will take place 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2. We would love to see you there cheering us on in our comeback!
