Game 1, April 23, 2025 and Game 2, April 24, 2025:

After suffering a tough loss Wednesday night, Lytle 0, Marion 6,  your Lady Pirates responded and were victorious 4-2 against Marion.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and cheered the ladies on.  They were excited to have a big crowd - it definitely gave them the momentum to earn the win.

Marion got on the scoreboard first with 1 run in the first inning but the girls answered back scoring 2.  Addison Criado got on base first followed by Alyssa Sprenger, however both were forced out by grounders hit right to 3rd base. With 2 outs and runners (Giselle Esparza and Lori Finamore) in scoring position, Kaycee Galindo hit a triple bringing in the 2 runs.

The third inning got started as Sprenger singled with a hit in between left and centerfield. Esparza moved Sprenger to 3rd as Anissa Perez doubled with a line drive to centerfield scoring Sprenger.

In the top of the fourth, Marion was able to score as Lytle committed its first error of the game., bringing the score to Lytle 3 Marion 2.

It was 3 up 3 down in the top of the fifth for the Pirate defense while the offense brought in another run. Esparza singled to left field and Perez tripled bringing in Esparza. This was also the inning when I made the biggest error as a coach, thinking it was 2 outs instead of 1 and sent Finamore home on a pop fly to short causing a double play.

Thankfully, the Lady Pirates responded in the sixth and seventh. In the Sprenger made the catch with bases loaded to end the sixth inning as well as making a catch for an out in the seventh. A ground ball to 3rd was thrown out by Nayelli Pacheco to 1st baseman Payton Devaney and making her first and most important catch of the game was Addison Criado in right field. Final score: Lytle 4, Marion 2.
