At the Regionals Tennis Tournament, Nathaniel Armendariz continued his impressive journey to State. Winning his first two matches on day one, beating Marion and Westlako (2nd seed). In the semifinals he played his final match and although going down 2-6, he rallied back to win 6-2, 6-1.
He played every seeded player at Regionals and played outstandingly. We are so very proud to announce Nathaniel Armendariz will represent Lytle at the UIL 3A Tennis State Championship as the first seed.
The UIL 3A State Tennis Tournament happens Thursday, May 15 and with the same determination, Nathaniel will likely play again on Friday, May 16. He is already making history as the first Boys Singles to play at state. Sandra Jopling competed at state in Girls Singles. Nate will play at Annemarie Tennis Center, 7001 Culebra Rd. San Antonio, TX 78238. He has a Bye the first round as the Regional Champion and automatically plays in the Quarterfinals on Thursday. He will be competing against the state's best.
