On Saturday, March 1, 2025, your Lytle Golden Girls Competed in the Showmakers of America State Dance Competition at Texas State University and doubled up, scoring a Division One rating for their pom routine and hip routine in the small school division. Division One Rating means the Golden Girls achieve the highest level of performance within a category at a competition. To do it twice after a long day, just amazing and a testament to the long hours and practices they put in since the end of the football season. The girls walked in on Saturday ready to preform but the 12-hour day wore on them until they got into the practice gym with over 200 HS dancers watching them practice their hip hope routine. As soon as the music hit, the entire practice gym went silent and then erupted starting to sing and dance with the girls during the practice routine. We wish we had recorded the event because it was something that the Showmakers staff said they hadn't seen in a long time. The other dance teams got into the music mash up so much they went onto the practice floor with our girls and started dancing with them . It was just an unbelievable moment that we got to witness. As they walked out the practice gym one of the lead staff members gave them a pep talk and told them to bring it because it could be one the best dances over the two-day competition . The energy followed into the main arena and the Golden Girls had the crowd singing and dancing. It was a great moment to bring our 24-25 dance competition season to a close. There isn't enough words to say how proud I am of this group of young ladies to put Lytle Dance on the map for future teams to come. Seniors Vanessa Mercado, Haylee Hernandez, Micaela Heath, Juniors Genesis Pineda, Isabella Reyes, and Captain Analicia Aguilar deserved every moment in the spotlight they experienced on Saturday due to their hard work over the last few months. Way to go Golden Girls! Lytle Pride..
