Our team traveled to two separate meets for the final week of the THSWPA (girls) regular season.
Wednesday 2-12-2025 Holy Cross Meet Results (Girls only):
On Wednesday, we traveled with 6 girls to Holy Cross to compete in their Last Girl Qualifier Meet. This meet was the last shot for our 6 girls to qualify for regionals. It was a fast but competitive meet. Our girls gave it their all!
Senior Nayelli Pacheco placed 1st in the 198 weight class with a total of 935 pounds.
Junior Giselle Esparza placed 2nd in the 148 weight class with a total of 725 pounds.
Saturday 2-15-2025 Crystal City Meet Results (Boys and Girls):
This meet served as both a Last Qualifier for both boys and girls on our team. The remaining girls who did not compete at Holy Cross competed at Crystal City. For half of our boys, this was their last meet of the season. It was a long day, but everyone worked hard and persevered for a chance to make it to their respective Regional Meet.
Boys:
Junior Evan Syma placed 3rd in the 114 weight class with a total of 500 pounds.
Girls:
Sophomore Julyana Frausto placed 3rd in the 123 weight class with a total of 630 pounds.
Junior Valeria Gonzalez de la Cerda placed 4th in the 132 weight class with a total of 735 pounds which automatically qualified her for Regionals.
Senior Mikayla Perez Martinez placed 3rd in the 165 weight class with a total of 795 pounds which automatically qualified her for Regionals.
Freshman Mia Diaz placed 2nd in the 198 weight class with a total of 815 pounds.
Junior Janelle Massiate placed 1st in the 220 weight class with a total of 820 pounds.
REGIONAL QUALIFIER RESULTS (GIRLS):
Now that the dust has settled and results across the region have been finalized, Lytle Pirate Powerlifting OFFICIALLY has 8 girls heading to the R5 Regional Meet and will represent Lytle in the 3A Big Division! The meet will be held in Edinburg at the Bert Ogden Arena next Thursday 2/27 with official weigh-ins on Wednesday 2/26. Please help me congratulate the following young ladies for such an awesome achievement!

Wednesday 2/19 is the last meet for THSPA (boys) regular season. We will travel to Natalia for the Last Boy Qualifier Meet with high hopes of punching our ticket to the R5 Regional Meet in Kingsville. The meet will begin at 5:30 and online tickets are available via the Natalia athletics site. If you have not made it to a meet, this is your last opportunity of the regular season! Stakes are high and the lifts will be heavy! We hope to see you there!
