Thank you, Tennis Coach Julie Cameron for sharing these results from our Lytle Junior Varsity Tennis Team.
Lytle Tennis had a fantastic showing at the JV Tournament in Somerset! Our players competed with heart, determination, and skill, and we are thrilled to announce that we’re bringing home some hardware!
Freshmen Faviola Jimenez and Marlen Vasquez earned a 2nd place medal in Girls Doubles, demonstrating great teamwork and resilience against a tough Highland HS team. In Girls Singles, Aubrey Solis showcased her hard work and growth from last season, securing 2nd place in a highly competitive field! She fought back from being down 2-5, to playing a tie breaker. Madison Hernandez stepped into singles for the first time this week and proved she belongs in the division. She played with confidence and will continue competing in singles next week.
We were on the verge of an exciting Lytle vs. Lytle match in Girls Doubles, but unfortunately, one of our team, Emma Hemenway and Robin Alvarado, was sidelined by injury and illness. Still, they fought hard and showed true grit!
On the Boys side, Emiliano Cardenas and Aiden Dresch played strong singles matches, gaining valuable experience that will serve them well as they continue to develop their game.
This team is putting in the work, and it’s paying off. We are proud of their effort, sportsmanship, and dedication and excited for what’s ahead!
