Lytle Powerlifting Results: February 5, 2025 Dilley Meet and February 8, 2025 Seguin Meet

Thank you, Coach Melissa Gomez and Coach Shelly Armentrout for sharing the success of your Powerlifting team!

Our powerlifting team had a very busy week competing.

January 29, 2025, Dilley Meet Results (Girls):

As we are halfway through the regular season, it has been incredible to see our lifters learning and evolving while achieving new PRs. Yesterday's meet had over 90 lifters, and the pressure was on from the start. In the end, two of our lifters earned medals.

Junior Giselle Esparza earned 3rd in the 148 weight class with a total of 705 pounds.

Senior Nayelli Pacheco earned 2nd in the 198 weight class with a total of 905 pounds.

From the get-go, this season has been challenging with girls from around the area giving their all, battling to earn regional qualifications. After looking over numbers from previous meets, Nayelli Pacheco has officially punched her ticket and earned a spot at the Regional Meet in late February! For a female lifter in the 198 weight class to automatically qualify for Regionals throughout the season, she needs a total of 830 pounds. Nayelli surpassed it with her 905 pound total! If you see her, please help me congratulate her for such an awesome achievement!

February 5, 2025 Dilley Meet Results (Boys):

The team traveled to Dilley and delivered an impressive performance. Out of the 12 lifters who competed, four earned top spots in their respective weight classes. As a team, Lytle accumulated 32 points and finished 3rd overall. Below are the medal results:

  • Junior Jaden Araujo earned 1st place in the 114 weight class with a total of 880 pounds.

  • Senior Luke Estrada earned 1st place in the 148 weight class with a total of 1,340 pounds.

  • Senior Andres Rodriguez earned 2nd place in the 148 weight class with a total of 830 pounds.

  • Junior Noah Smoot earned 1st place in the 181 weight class with a total of 1,340 pounds.

  • 2/8/25 Seguin Meet Results (Boys and Girls):

February 8, 2025 Seguin Meet Results:

The team traveled to Seguin to compete in their largest meet of the season so far. 23 of our Pirate lifters faced intense competition against 16 schools ranging from 3A to 6A, with over 250 lifters in attendance. This high-level meet provided a valuable opportunity for our team to experience intensity similar to that of a regional or state competition while stepping out of their comfort zones. Despite the long day, our Pirates showed resilience and determination. The girls finished 5th and the boys finished 12th. Below are the medal results:

  • Girls:

    • Junior Annika Robles earned 3rd place in the 97 weight class with a total of 460 pounds.

    • Junior Valeria Gonzalez earned 2nd place in the 132 weight class with a total of 705 pounds.

    • Freshman Mia Diaz earned 1st place in the 198 weight class with a total of 785 pounds.

  • Boys:

    • Junior Christopher Jacques earned 2nd place in the 181 weight class with a total of 1,330 pounds

Below are the remaining regular season meets:

  • Wednesday 2/12: Holy Cross (girls) @ 5:00pm

  • Saturday 2/15: Crystal City Javelina Powerfest Meet (boys and girls) @ 9:00am

  • Wednesday 2/19: Natalia (boys) @ 5:30pm

We are incredibly proud of our team. Our lifters continue to grow, push their limits, and learn more about themselves and their goals. We hope you can make it to our last remaining meets. Thank you for supporting our powerlifting team!
