Thank you, Coach Lori Wilson for this summary of the game and your plans for growth!
The girls opened their season on Saturday in Marion and took a tough loss 60-26. We have a new team with many new faces with many girls taking on new roles. We just need to play some more games and build some chemistry with each other and I can see us surprising a lot of people. We have eleven girls total in the program that consists of three freshmen four sophomores and four seniors. They are all hard working young ladies and I know we are going to get better every game. We have to do a better job scoring easy baskets when we have the opportunity we were 11/29. Turnovers was a big part of our loss with 26 we just have to handle the ball better and make wiser decisions. I am excited to watch this group grow as the season advances.
Leading the team was Senior Arianna Garcia with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block. Aliana Cardenas had 4 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Mia Rollins had 2 points, 1 steal and 2 rebounds. Caeligh Smith scored 2 points, Zabella Garza had 1 point and 4 rebounds, and Sophia Stewart scored 1 point.
Go Pirates!
