Sept. 13, 2024 Concerns of Possible Threats Investigated, Deemed Not Credible
Hello, Pirate Families,
Today, the Lytle ISD Emergency Operations Plan team was made aware that concerning posts about a school shooting were being discussed by students. This matter has been fully investigated, and school administrators and local law enforcement agree there is no credible threat. We are sharing the screenshot of the TikTok post that students were referring to in their discussions. This is actually an awareness post that lists schools where school shootings have occurred and is an anti-school violence post. Lytle schools are not specifically mentioned in any known or reported social media threats. We believe this post, along with Friday the 13th superstitions have led to increased chatter among students.
As always, Lytle ISD takes all reported concerns of school violence seriously and we remain vigilant in being present, aware and partnering with law enforcement when making decisions and taking action, if necessary.
