JV 1 team photos

Thank you, Coach Michelle Scotello for sharing this journey of growth for our Junior Varsity Volleyball team. Here are some photos from the Friday night game vs Somerset: https://photos.app.goo.gl/yQEFSF9jNs4GoQ8m8

Your Lytle Pirates Junior Varsity Volleyball team competed in a tournament this weekend in San Antonio. Traveling to the Edgewood ISD gym after taking a great loss to Memorial in two sets on Tuesday at this same gym, and to Somerset in two sets the night before at home was a bit daunting, but the girls were up for the challenge. We haven't had a lot of celebration on JV this year, but we started to turn things around on Saturday.

We started Saturday morning off with a win against Lanier in two, putting us in the winner's bracket.  Next, we were faced with playing Memorial's JV team, again.  While we still didn't win, they played so much better this second time around.  Finally, playing for third, we were faced with an experienced Burbank JV team. We were able to take one set from Burbank after losing the first one, but ultimately ended up in fourth place. Despite two loses, this was my proudest moment of the season so far. They hustled, fought and competed with some large school JV teams. Expect things to start looking up for our JV Volleyball team as our Freshmen start to get really comfortable playing at a higher level and our return players start to settle into their new roles as leaders.
